* ZD - You have to look into this guy Bradley. Check out the grievances filed against him.
* This is wack. Apparently, Bradley was elected as a "resident" board member of one area of Glassell Park, but actually lives in a different area. And, DONE ruled in Bradley's favor because he was "self-affirming" his residency - even though he doesn't live in that area.
So, I guess if I go to DONE and "self-affirm" that I live in Bel Air but live in Boyle Heights, I can be on their NC Board. Maybe they can give me a pueblo in Bel Air, too. Insane.
* Oh, it gets better: GPNC has been hijacked by the religious group Victory Outreach and developers lead by Bradley and Paula Bagasao, who are ringleaders of the development group PROH-LA.
Bradley and his ilk wants to gut the Hillside Ordinance and the Mt. Washington-Glassell Park Specific Plan so developers can put McMansions in the hillsides and waive developers' responsibilities for creating the infrastructure to support the development that they want to cash in on.
The Bradley-led developers created a coalition with Victory Outreach to take over the NC in the last election. What does Victory Outreach want out of this? A 25 ft. high, Vegas-style sign on Eagle Rock Blvd. in Glassell Park, which the old neighborhood council thought was obtrusive. Here's the best part: the sign will say "Victory Outreach of Eagle Rock" - in Glassell Park!
How's that for giving the finger to Glassell Park residents! The GPNC Board is a perfect example of what's wrong with the NC system (can be easily taken over by special interests, not representative of the community) and why it is dangerous and a monumental waste of taxpayer money. Pigs feeding at the trough, indeed!
* Hey Bradley: we understand you're planning a run for City Council. VERY exciting!
Clowncilman Bradley sure has a nice ring but the voters won't go for it. Partial names don't fly. Come out of the shadows buddy. We're not going away.
* (Mr.) Bradley has planning contracts with the City Planning Department if he's the Bradley from E.B.E. Associates.
Paula Y. Bagasao, PhD is pretty connected in the City of Los Angeles, too. She should hit up Zuma Dogg with a donation on paypal, cause she's the "high-quality job" version of a Jamaican. Doing things all over this City.
Give Paula a call about $2.99 MILLION GRANT FROM THE CALIFORNIA ENDOWMENT COMPLETES FUNDING FOR UNPRECEDENTED CALIFORNIA HEALTH INTERVIEW SURVEY. (Couldn't they just round it out to $3 million for the "uprecedented" survey? It's unprecedented, alright: In the expense area!) She's the contact person. (Won't publish the number here, cause that's not what it's about.)
Just interesting how many people sitting on these public input councils (NC) have big, big business contracts and projects and plans with the City.
Man, that's a pretty schweet deal.
* ZD make no mistake. E.B.E. Associates is Bradley. The smug baseball cap guy who bullied the camera lady. Hmmmm . . . let's see . . . he runs the Glassell Park Neighborhood Council . . . he has business dealings with the city . . . the NC meeting minutes haven't been made available to the public in months (according to another commenter) . . . and he protests adamantly when a stakeholder tries to record a meeting . . .Nah, there's nothing going on under that rock! Move along everyone. Nothing to see here.’’

If you think the video thing is unbelievable, go take a look at the election challenges that were pointed to in another thread...total, fucking unbelievable!!
Basically, (1) Bradley lies about where he lives (puts his business address down instead) which is important because the GPNC bylaws require area reps to live in the area they represent, (2) Admits to it (one just needs to read his reply to DONE), and (3) the city does jack shit about it.
Wow!! And the city wonders why out of 24,000 stakeholders only 300 or less bother to vote in most/all of these NCs. Amazing.

Oh and what is the real reason that people are complaining about Bradley. Not that he lied (which he admits to) but rather all his detractors are racist!! Yup that's the reason he gives to DONE. Yeah, that will work everytime. (Sorry, you're just the wrong color) Bradley's the victim in this whole thing (just take a look at the video he does not want you to see)
He goes by "B Bradley", "Bradley Bradley", "Ebe Bradley" and "Bradley Ebe"
WTF! Talk about shady!

* The fact is....you look at that video and you wonder what Bradley and the other lady are trying to hide? Since the GPNC has not posted ANY minutes for the new board going on 6 month now, I think it is a good idea that someone is willing to go and make a record of the meetings. But obviously Bradley does not like that, nor does Mrs Bagasho. No minutes posted at their website www.gparknc.com from the past 5-6 month and no record of what they are up to? Thank goodness someone is taking a risk videotaping. It looks like a hostile environment to say the least and that is just not right. Regardless of what else might or might not be going on, Bradley appears to have lied to the general public repeatedly with his comments about the "City Attorney's Office" being in his camp about videotaping meetings of the GPNC. Anyone who has spent much time studying Bradley knows this is his MO, baffle em' with bull and feed them more crap. Bullying people who disagree with him and making it up as he goes along. Some people can be fooled by his bogus "passive aggressive" behavior, others are suspicious and generally turned off. Perhaps Bradley "Bashing" the person with the video camera is just what the doctor ordered for a sick puppy.
As to the old regime, I suggest you ask those who were on the old board who decided not to run why they decided to cut and run when they heard of the PROH-LA/Victory Outreach alliance that they dubbed the "Diversity Coalition."

(a) Any person attending an open and public meeting of a legislative body of a local agency shall have the right to record the proceedings with an audio or video tape recorder or a still or motion picture camera in the absence of a reasonable finding by the legislative body of the local agency that the recording cannot continue without noise, illumination, or obstruction of view that constitutes, or would constitute, a persistent disruption of the proceedings.

I find the paragraph below from Paula Bagasoa's challenge to the GPNC elections very sad. Here she pretends care about people in and around Glassell Park by requesting the old board of the GPNC should supply them with voting information in TAGALOG for the Filipinos. I find it hilarious that the current GPNC board of which she is a member usually only supplies their Agendas in English only, they don't supply Spanish and they for sure are not posting information or agendas in Tagalog, so what is she thinking? If Tagalog was so important for assisting Stakeholders in voting then why has it suddenly become too much trouble for the current GPNC board to supply it at meetings. FYI the current board does usually supply a Spanish translator person and they have headphones. Pasted below is Paula's rant about Tagalog.
Regarding language communications. I am also seeking that the election flyer, Vote-by- Mail documents, and the ballots also be developed, distributed, and be made available in Tagalog. While the many Filipinos and Filipino Americans who are stakeholders in the GPNC area do speak English or some English, it is well established that the most effective way to communicate with this population is in English and Tagalog. At the present time, only English and Spanish are proposed.
